Last Review Posted Figaro Beneteau
Even after 20 years the Finot-designed Figaro I (aka Figaro Solo) is still competitive and easily managed for both around the cans, inshore, and offshore distance events. They are designed and set up for shorthanded racing, with all lines led aft and an open and well thought out cockpit.

They are no longer raced as a class and this allows upgrades to modern sails and hardware, further keeping her competitive with more recent designs. The boat is light with a near plumb bow, an advantage in light conditions but harder work upwind in heavier sea. The masthead spinnaker works well downwind and is a real plus in light air.

Interior accomodations are generally modest, with no 'plumbing' in most boats (bucket or camper potty), though reasonable room for a 30-foot boat due to the small coachroof and wide beam aft.

As noted in other reviews, the Figaro has a good race record and is a sturdy and easlily maintained build. Best of all, she is a very responsive and tons of fun to sail competitely or as a relaxed day-sailer.
