Pros:
Cons:

Purchased boat June, 2001. Leaks badly, probably around swing keel pivot. Repairs underway. New running rigging added.

First extended sail was a gas, even though performance is low compared to catamaran sailing, my only previous experience.

Though not a large boat, it is huge for my part of the country (Nebraska). I haven't enough experience to give you any comparison. Could any of you tell me about my boat? I could use any help.

Pros:
Cons:

My first sailboat. Taught me to sail. Crank up the keel to get you off sandbars when you mess up. Crank up the keel and beach her while you swim. Easily trailerable, not just trailerable. Before I purchased her I found out the design is in the sailboat hall of fame. Points very well into the wind. Keel makes her forgiving when hitting accidental sandbars and beaching. She is self-righting. They came new with positive floatation foam which made them unsinkable (unless the previous owner removed it to make more room). Downsides... SLOW , dont race her unless you wanna be dead last. She heels too much to be fast. Water passing swing keel really makes a racket (humming). Dont trust her in over 20 mph winds because of her light weight. She is in no way comparable in weight to normal 25 foot vessels. Overall.... Highly recommend, esp for novice sailor challenging bays and lakes.
