I've only had Brittany Ann for one month, and sail her on SF Bay and coastal waters. She balances well, due to her cutter rig, and sails well despite her 16,000 lbs displacement. Built tough and all joinery is top of the line. I have roller furling gear on the jib and staysail, and the jib is difficult to tack due to the staysail stay position. My came to me with braided running backstays (staysail) with no means to tighten sufficiently. I willbe replacing with wire runners and a 4 part purchase arrangement. I have a Yanmar 3GM30F engine, and it is somewhat underpowered for the weight of this vessel. I love the high bulworks, large deck scuppers and comfortable cockpit. She is comfortable below with a double birth (settee) to starboard, Single settee to port, good size head and workable gally. Down-side is the non-sitting nav-station, although it is fairly large. Because I have a diesel generator mounted below the cockpit sole, I have done away with the numerous screws that secured the sole. Instead, I installed an eye bolt in the center of the sole (underside) to which I attached a 4 part purchase routed to the port locker. To remove the cover to service the generator you just release the line and lift the cockpit sole. Replace the sole and pull hard on the line and secure it with a cam-cleat. Works well and maintains its water-tightness. This is a great boat!!
