Pros:
Cons:

A nice, easily trailerable pocket cruiser. Easy to handle
and sail. Weakness: Cast iron keel not firmly placed into trunck (keel slop). Leeward helm resolved only by moving mast aft (1 in), raking aft, and enlarging roach on main.

Pros:
Cons:

I found the Montego 19 to be a great little boat. She sailed well in high + 20 winds & was easy to trailer. I accidentally made a low ball bid on another boat & had to sell her to cover my new boat bucks need. I often think the simplicity on the Montego 19 might have been better & cheaper if not for the rusty keel.

Pros: Great boat for those without a slip. Solo rigging to underway < 30 minutes.
Cons: Aft mainsheet controls make cockpit seem even smaller.

Wow! I had awful lee helm, The Montego is my first boat. I had sailed three times to get my ASA101, and never seen the boat rigged, bought on trailer. My lee helm was resolved with good halyard tension on both main and genoa, and looser sail trim. She does not like the jib oversheeted. There is a Montego group on yahoo, a lot of great info there for new sailors like me.
