Scholar Gypsy sails mostly in Florida waters and is ideally suited for our waters. She is shallow draft and offers excellent ventilation (very important to me).

While not a "fast" boat, she is quick.

She offers enough sophistication to keep me busy, but she also sails well even when I want to be lazy. I can trim the Gypsy to balance and self steer in a moderate breeze.

The damn thing also has a leak that I cannot seem to find, no matter what I do ... and it drips on the quarterberth.

Cons:

The 323 is an amazing little boat. She kindly in a heavy seaway, comfortable in a following sea. She has ample storage and with a little imagination this can be expanded.

On this year boat the feet for the starboard berth need to be refastioned. The water is a little sparce at 35 gallons but can be augmented with a 5 gallon jerry can on deck and a sun shower.

The Yanmar engine is adaquet to move the 323 thru a heavy sea or running tide.

This aazing little boat is one of America;s best kept secrets. Charlie Morgan outdid himself on the pocket cruiser.
