Mine was a project boat, not sailed for 10 years, but solid. Great fiberglass, shoal keel with centerboard. Draws only 2ft, 9in. Old bronze crumbling stuffing box fitting for centerboard needs replacement. Still looking for something since fitting has metric threads. Any one have info on new one? Mast step broken, substituted Stainless tabernacle from Dwyer Mast and cut to fit original base plate. Main traveler weak, replaced with New Harken 1511 Hi-beam track and cars. Hope to be sailing before 2002. Sturdy boat and still trailerable, with only 5000lbs. I built trailer with extending 9ft tongue, duel axle with electric brakes on all four wheels. Tow vehicle must be very heavy or have either duel wheels or 4X4 to pull it up ramps. captbob@goldlink.net

I have owned my 68 Morgan for a couple of years and still it is a project. The Morgan 24/25 is a great small cruiser and should be fast on the course and dependable while coastal cruising. I have received enough info to repair my centerboard cable/tube/stuffing box and am now working on getting the bottom redone. I also have no tracks installed for the jib or genoa. I am not sure where to place them and could use some help in that area. Some really up close pictures of these tracks would help a lot. I hope to be sailing by mid 2004.
I am located in Middle Georgia and will trailer my boat to the coasts and inland lakes in the South east. I would love to see/examine a Morgan 25 in the area to gain a better understanding of the placement of the jib tracks and the centerboard winch.

I have just purchased a Morgan 25. Does anyone know where I can find information on how to locate and repair any weak areas of the boat? I noticed it has a worm gear boom reefing arrangment. They were out of favor for many years. However I have a full batten main with the battens parallel to the boom. Will it work?

1968 Morgan 24 - A great coastal cruiser. Heavy enough to sail in bumpy seas, light enough to trailer anywhere as long as you have a 3/4 ton truck. I got mine sailing in July 2004. After fixing all the broken things that was ignored by previous owners, I have had little trouble from the boat. Outboard motors is another story. I mostly sail single handed and usually launch and trailer single handed also. I have sailed my Morgan in the Great Lakes, the Gulf of Mexico and to the Bahamas. It is a very sturdy, forgiving, fast, and safe small cruise. The best boat I have owned. By far my favorite. For those wanting more info on these boats see my Morgan 24 website.
