roller furling jib, dodger, Autohelm 4000, gps, Loran
sloop rigged, 35" draft wing keel, hull #697,
roomy for 2-4, points high, good construction,10hp diesel with wheel steering makes it easy to handle, nice cockpit design, good weekender, nice 6'2 headroom, still trailerable which gives options, engine is a bit weak in the power end. Overall I am very satisfied, I enjoy it immensly and look forward to winter sailing in Florida(first time in salt water)

The 272LE is a well made and planned out production boat. I have the wing keel model with the westerbeke 10two. It is very roomy and functional below for 2-4 people. The boat sails well to the wind and did good in choppy seas. I have not had any problems with it, but think its weak point is the transom mounted rudder which can shake the whole transom and make a lot of noise on the hook with waves. The only other challenge has been the alternator. The westerbeke has an internally regulated 35 amp model that is very expensive and precludes use of a good regulator.
