Doug Peterson design for one-design ocean racing by
members of the New York Yacht Club. The NY40 has a
clean deck layout and is finished comfortably in the
cabin. About 20 of these were built in the late 70's.
They have a PERF rating of 90 and also race IMS. The
New York Yacht Club still has an active fleet and some
NY40's have raced in the Lake Michigan Mac Race. The
boat makes a good high performance cruiser for persons
seeking a quality constructed boat with nice performance.
I have pictures available on line showing the interior
and exterior of a New York 40 on the world wide web at http://members.aol.com/NY40daybre/index.html
Have sailed mine on Lake Michigan family summer cruises.
