Pros:
Cons:

Great older boat-sound, strong and stable. May not be quite as fast as some newer boats but is far more seaworthy. Fairly heavy displacement with cutaway full keel and keel mounted rudder provides good stability and tracking; solid fiberglass construction, heavyduty rigging for boat this size. Standing headroom in main cabin, adequate headroom in forward berth. Sleeps four comfortably. Too many strengths to list. Weaknesses: ice box essentially worthless except as dry foods storage; aft lifeline stanchion bases need reinforcement; outboard motor can't be retracted into well( if so equipped).
Absolutely love this boat- well built,sails well in all conditions, spacious for a boat this size and is very pleasing to the eye.

Our Ariel continues to provide us a great deal of fun after sailing her for many years. We have cruised the west coast and raced in the waters of San Francisco. The security we feel is just one of the reasons that we have never thought about another boat for our sailing adventures

Great 1or 2 pearson boat,solidly built.Tore out old side loading ice box and built new top loading box with refrigeration.With its 3'8"draft it can go places fin keeled boats of the same size can`t.Main cabin head room is only 5'9",but I`m 6'2"and have lived with it for 8 years.This boat will turn heads at any anchorage.South Coast winches are too small but are easily upgraded to #16 to handle the genoa.

My 64 Ariel is the answer to the difficult question posed to a boat. What can I sail in a river, or off shore with confidence, and know will handle heavy weather while still being small enough to be pushed off the bottom when she finds it?

Reasonable performance in light air, respectable performance,(finished 6th of 18 in our club's PHRF races) all in a great old solid, full keel boat with more fiberglass in her hull then most modern 35'ers.

Maybe you can tell I am a fan, but for more info, take a look at the owners association site at;
