Pros:
Cons:

Purchased in 1998 for $11K -
A stiff and sturdy hull, sails with good stability and speed, although too heavy to be much in races. We have updated rigging, sails, and entire deck and deck hardware. Stripped all hardware from the decks and repainted all surfaces with 2 part LP. Removed teak eyebrow trim altogether. Replaced all remaining exterior teak with stainless steel - including grab rails. Much improved the appearance and virtually eliminated the exterior maintenance aside from cleaning. Will re-do the interior next and paint the hull dark blue. Maybe @$35K total will be spent - less than new and a sturdier, better built boat. Will work great for another ten years until the boys are old enough to sail and help with a J120. Any Ranger 30 Owners race their boats? Successes? Race setup?
