An excellent lake boat, very safe and solid. I think it is the same boat as the "Tangerine" (see owner's review for specs). It trails easily behind my V-6 Ranger, but needs a long and fairly deep ramp to float it off the trailer due to the fixed keel. I have heard that some were built with centerboards, but haven't seen one - these Renkens are fairly scarce anyway as they were only built one year. The rigging is very simple - forestay and two shrouds angled back. My 3 hp Yamaha pushes it close to hull speed. The boat is real comfortable to day-sail, the angle of the seat back and especially against the transom is perfect for me. I have pushed it pretty hard (after adding backing plates to shroud hardware) and none of the glass shows any stress cracks. A whisker pole, a small vang, and reef points in the main made a big difference in the boat's performance.
