Pros: fast comfortable
Cons: old

I have owned many sailboats, and recently bought my 1985 First 42.
I am happily impressed by her ability. Every time I think that she is not up to the task, I am proved wrong.
This is the best boat I have ever owned.

Pros: Exceptionally good performance upwind
Cons: Usual complaints IOR "tubs", not roomy below

I really love this boat! She sails so well and looks so good to me that even though the new designs are very cool and lots more down below, I am not tempted and fall in love again every time I sail her.

She has been from Zihautanejo, MX to Dessolation Sound in B.C., Canada since 1995 and never failed to please under sail or under power.

Have refurbished and added equipment and even enjoy working her though the spaces can get a little tight.

Open to sharing with any and all about this boat.
