Pros:
Cons:
Roomy racer/cruiser with great beam and headroom for it's size. Lots of lead at 3100 lbs for this size boat. Poor cockpit drains and undersized head. Overall, a good boat from the Clark Boat Co.

Great boat for the $. Lots of headroom & great beam (10'!) actual boat length is almost 29.
Sails great, turns great; no problems!
Complaints: small cockpit & tiny head.

Pros:
Sails great, roomy saloon
Cons:
Small head and cockpit
The San Juan 28 is a nice sailing boat with approximately a 50% ballast ratio. The interior is fairly roomy and a nice size for a couple. It's possible to sleep 6 aboard if you have some "little people" in your group. Sailing to windward we've found that she will steer herself once the sails are trimmed. As the wind direction changes she will adjust course and continue to sail at the same apparent wind angle. We enjoy our SJ28 alot and have no regrets. There is also a knowledgable SJ28 owners association which is a great benefit.
