31 ft Dutch built shallow draught seagoing steel vessel along traditional lines by Vermeulen Shipyard in Terneuzen (beware imitations). Production ceased around 1980. Long keel, slow by modern standards but immensely strong, very roomy and finished to excellent specifications. In the sixties many have been transported to Florida as charter vessels. Ours is over 30 years old and still in excellent working order, but requiring maintenance to varnished topsides. Sailed German Bight in force 8 gale without trouble to the ship, Baltic, British Channel plus the Dutch shoals. Like the fishing vessels that form the basis of the design, it can be be sailed off the shoals when grounded, and can easily dry out using beaching legs.
Principal weakness is a limited windward ability, especially in light airs. Other than that, a great proper ship.
