Pros:
Cons:

She's a cruising sloop that sleeps six. She has the ability
to point high and is pretty quick for her weight and 11'6"
beam. She has ease of handling and is very forgiving. I added a roller furling which has worked out well. She's held up remarkably well over the years and has survived her share of storms. I can't say enough in her honor.

Pros:
Cons:

This sloop rigged plan is extremely fast. She sails very well in light air and points very tight to the wind. The boat usually wins her class in Bay racing and is versatile enough to have transited the Gulf offshore from TX to FL and Back (her light displacement made for a lively - though fast crossing). Only weakness is interior cabin layout with pilot berth raised above sette to port. Overall - she is the best performing boat for the money I have ever sailed.

first of all, let's correct the spelling - there are two n's. i'd like to have sailnet reinstitute its seidelmann list. this boat seems to be shunned by proper yachtsman because of its lack of yachty finish. what it lacks in finish, it makes up for in performance. i bought mine in annapolis and sailed it back to washington, nc. she cost me less than the cheapest, poorest oday 30 i could find, although i'm really fond of odays, and has been a surprisingly nice boat with a fine turn of speed. the finicky surveyor i hired initially sneered at seidelmanns but was visibly surprised by the shape she was in and her overall quality. chalk up one open mind. mine is the shoal draft (3'11') version and surprised the hell out of me by tracking like she's on rails and sailing well to weather. her 18 horse yanmar will push her to 6 to 6.5 knots at moderate throttle and sniffing 7 wide open. i'd like other seidelmann owners to come out of the closet and get a bit of chat started.

Pros: well built solid cruiser
Cons: somewhat weak on headliner

Purchased 09/1991. For the past 22 years have had nothing but great sailing with her! Maine to Fla. Outside and ICW. 6'6" headroom, fully loaded, 12 ft beam, 5'6" draft. Mine is a 37S built 1985. Sleeps 6, Better than any like performance racer/cruiser. Solid construction, Low maintenance.
