Seaflight 12, Modified tunnel planing fiberglass boat, 1966 model. My Dad bought boat in New Albany, Indiana in '66. I have owned boat since '78. I have an original sales brochure for the Starcraft line including this boat. I have added a jib sail to the boat, made a larger rudder and stronger tiller for the boat. Would like to hear from anyone else that owns a Starcraft sailboat. They list the Starlette 9, Seaflight 12, Skylark 14, and Upstart 16 among their models. I currently sail the boat on Benbrook Lake southwest of Fort Worth, Texas.

fiberglass-concave hull design-14'2"Lx54"W..white bottom w/light blue deck..either built for daysail or dayrace?.20'alum. mast(self supporting)/10'alum. boom..white nylon sail w/red stripe at top..does not have centerboard, but has twin alum. daggers on either side..resembles shark fins allowing no skipping during high winds, since 1 "fin" is always in the water..turns on a dime..sails like lightning..does very well in all types of wind..exciting with company,heart- pounding doing solo.. please drop a line or two if you have intrest..

Pros:
Cons:

Its the same as Brian's even the same color. I have nearly completely rebuilt the little thing. All the wood was rotten so I had to remove the deck and replace it. We have had it going for several weeks and really like it. Its heavy for a small boat but its very stable and solid as a rock. I am adding a boom vang to help the downwind performance.

Owned an Upstart back in the '60s and even sailed it on Lake of the Woods.
Great boat and I wouldn't mind having another one.

Pros: Very stable
Cons: slow

My wife found this old thing sitting on a side street for sale. It was all covered with mold and needed some serious TLC. It really cleaned up nice and with a little work it has provided hours of enjoyment. It only had 5 of the 10 three inch mast hoops and I've searched hi and low for replacements without success. Any ideas?

Hi,

I am a Starcraft Skylark that is under repair. I split the the boat in half (removed the metal strips along the edges) to replace the wood inside. Everything seems to be working out ok, just wish I would have taken some pictures before I started it all.

I do not know if I have any extra parts (rings, etc) since I have never had it in the water.

It sure is nice to hear the others still sail a Skylark.

I am looking for one of the starcraft sail boats. It is the cataraman type with the lee boards. Boat is fiberglass with a one piece unstayed mast. The sail is mounted on the mast with plastic rings.

Pros: Fun sailer
Cons: Slow to turn

I have sailed this boat for the past 30+ years and really enjoy it. My boat is getting older and needs some work and I really want to find a source for replacement parts. If anyone has decommissioned a Starcraft Skylark and is willing to part with some of the pieces, I would be very interested to speak to them.
