Purchased used to instruct children onhow to sail. Great for ages 13 and up who quickly become independant and confident. Handles wide range of wind strengths, easily righted, and difficult to damage. Races available if desired.

Pros:
Cons:

This is a wonderful boat to learn how to race on. It is not
as fast as the Laser, but the Sunfish is still a fast boat
that has many good features for the beggining and the experienced
sailor. It's semi-flat design gives it good stability, and
it also helps the lighter sailor to keep the boat down (90-
110 lbs.). The sail is easy to manage and easy to handle.
Only problem is that with 2 years of steady use the hull will
start to leak. Look to the auto-bailer and to the centerboard
trunk for the leakage. If you have any questions, E-Mail me.
I have raced the boats and it is no problem for me to answer
any questions.

Pros:
Cons:

The Sunfish handles waves/swells and heavy winds very well, dispelling my previous beliefs about the limitations of such a small boat in rough surf. The boat is a lot hardier than you'd expect. Sails with 2 adults well. Perfect for the unpredictable conditions on the SW shores of Lake Michigan.

Pros: Easy to learn and very forgiving
Cons: It is a bit crowed for two adults, great with kids

Got this boat a very long, long, long, long time ago and I still have it. Learned to sail with the wind on the Sunfish. Have never had any trouble with it during this time. Have capsized three times of which one was on purpose because it was too darn hot. I would recomend this boat to anyone and everyone. The next step up was a C scow, but I still like crusing about in the Sunfish on hot days. So where do you give the price of the boat. I do not see where that would be given. Well, I paid $600 for it 30 years ago. I still have all the parts. The dagger board has been repaired once do to consant wear and tear.
