The Tatoosh 42 was designed by Robert Perry. The boat was
built in Kaoshuing, Taiwan. It was also imported under the
name Nassau 42. It is sloop rigged. The boat is well layed
out and sails beautifully. Here are the basic specs:

LOA: 41'10" LWL: 34'7" Beam: 12'9" Draft: 5'10"
Displacement: 23500 lbs.

Two Staterooms, Two heads, galley, settee area, nav station
and quarter berth. Powered by Pathfinder (Volkswagon)50, a
42hp diesel engine with Warner v-drive. Some have Perkins.

Decks are teak. Nine winches on deck ranging from Lewmar 55
primaries to Lewmar 30's. Goiot hatches and stanchions.

We have owned this boat since 1985. To my knowledge, there
are no other Tatoosh 42's in Southern California. I have
seen others in Houston (where I bought mine), the BVI, Norway,
and in the Summer of 1996 in Bora Bora. They are nice, fast
cruising boats.

Our boat is berthed in San Diego and we sail almost every
weekend.

Pros:
Cons:

A strong comfortable performance cruiser from the drafting table of Bob Perry. Apparently very few were built. The highest concentration I have found is around the Houston area--where I bought mine in the winter of 03-04. Would love to connect with other owners--past and present. After a year long rather vagabond existence dodging hurricanes in the gulf, "Remedy" is now snug in her new berth in New Orleans.
