Pros:
Cons:

The Harpoon 5.2 is a georgeous C&C designed, 17 foot daysailer built by Boston Whaler. In all 1800 were built until production discontinued in the mid 80s. This boat has been called the Mercedes of Dinghies and I'd have to agree. The foam sandwich construction makes this boat unsinkable and the efficient Elvstrom bailers work even when the boat is at rest. The 565 lb planing hull carries 170 sqft of sail plus a symmetrical chute. With the 7'6" beam, the boat single hands well yet readily offers enough room for 5 adults. Responsive, versatile, safe, user-friendly are key characteristics. Despite the fact that the Class Association is currently (2000) defunct, the boat deservedly enjoys tremedous popularity. I have enjoyed the boat immensely and have made additional information available at http://www.ruach.net/Harpoon.html
