Pros:
Cons:

The U.S. 25 sloop is a mast head rig, fin keel and uses an OB for auxillary power. I have owned this boat for 17 years and it has been a great cruiser/racer. As with all U.S. boats the windows have leaked from day one and operating the outboard is a stretch. But those would be my only two complaints. She has served me well in PHRF racing for many seasons. These boats have not been manufactured since the early to mid eighties. They were being produced in Washington and on the east coast.

Pros:
Cons:

Owned since 3/01. Have been very happy with boat. Sails well in light and strong winds. Inboard saildrive was well maintained and is wonderful. Bypassed key switch which kept getting broken off. Had strong lee helm in light air at first, but raking mast slightly back fixed that. Now very fast in light air, light weather helm in fresh breeze. Found only 4 or 5 tiny blisters when doing bottom job winter/01. Boat has been docked year round in freshwater since new.

Pros: large main cabin, sails well
Cons: small cockpit, head is almost impossible to enter for large person, outboard hard to deal with

Bought the boat new and kept it about 10 years. Had a few blisters in the first year but none afterwards. Nice size cabin but the head, with the wood door in place is next to impossible to enter for a 210 pound, 6'4" sailor. Centerboard broke off during one race.
