Well designed for heavy weather sailing. Comfortable and secure when heading upwind in winds to at least 44 knots probably more. Have not found any major weaknesses yet. Overall, am extremely satisfied with sailing characteristics and service support when I have questions.

In over 40 years of sailing, the Valiant 42 is the best boat for any type of sailing especially for offshore and long distance. Very confortable cabin--Own a Valiant and it will be the last boat you will ever want. Extremly stable, strong boat. Easily managed by a crew of two or single handed. Points very high, holds, course well. This boat is for sale. E-Mail accepted
