Pros:
Cons:

Flush deck center cockpit f/g ketch.
Nice interior with offshore layout and good stowage; adequate tankage (approx. 100 G fuel / 100G water.
Built for / raced in Trans Pac (hence tall rig and extensive sail inventory).
Purchased 4/98. Currently undergoing refit. Have peeled hull gel coat for minor blisters. Repowering with 50 HP Yanmar later this year. Not much re: sailing characteristics to report at this time.
Planning extended cruise in 2000.

Pros:
Cons:

Beautiful flush deck, center cockpit bluewater cruising boat. Well equipped and strongly built, with all teak interior. Excellent engine access. Walk through to aft cabin. Large sail locker, aft lazarette, and much stowage throughout. Raced in the TransPac and cruised the Pacific and Caribbean. Ready to go again!
Well balanced, with modified fin keel and skeg rudder. 5'10" draft.
Sadly, "Broom Hilda" is now for sale. Would consider partial trade of smaller, shoal draft Bahama cruiser...

Pros: Great performance livaboard cruiser, excellent mainenance access to engine wiring and plumbing, large fuel and water capacity, Very nice master state room bigger than most 50's class boats
Cons: no rub rail

Wauquiez made a nice sailing boat with an interior that is both functional for maintenance and storage. The boat sails well and has an attractive teak interior. I am just finishing up the refit on this one and it is for sale. pictures of the interior can be seen at http://vintageboatservices.com/wauquiez.htm
