I have been sailing this boat for 2.5 years in the Puget Sound of WA, and the Texas coast. She is solidly built with a V-berth, port and starboard settees, slide-out galley, and a pop top. It also has a drop leaf table mounted on the centerboard trunk. I have improved the rigging for solo sailing by adding lazy jacks, leading the halyards to the cockpit, and adding dousing lines to the main and jib. The boat sails best on a close reach with about 10 deg. of heel. About 6 kt. in a 10 kt. breeze. She is tender at first, but lower the keel to full depth and put some air in her sails she becomes quite comfortable and easy to handle. With a little practice one person can even launch and recover her in 30 min. or less. This is especially nice for those who prefer to dry slip. She will sleep 4 if the 2 sharing the forward berth are of med. build or less.

I haven't had the boat long (Spring 2000), so am still learning about it. It's an attractive boat, in very good condition, and sails nicely! I haven't had any problems with it. We've had seven people on it at a time with plenty of room (three adults, four kids aged 10-15). I haven't done it yet, but believe I can single-hand it.

The Windrose 22 is a very solid boat and streamlined with an extremely heavy keel for stability.
Good all around boat for racing or cruising. I have completely redone my boat inside and out and is easy to work on in terms of having plenty of room inside and having so much open space.

I've just sailed my Windrose "Dog Daze" for its first season and all in all she's a great boat. I've single-handed her a couple of times and have had zero problems. She sails right through whatever you point her at. Easy to set up, launch, sail, anchor, beach & trailer.

Lee helm on Starboard Tack, Weather helm on Port

I sailed one of these on inland lakes in Texas for a couple of years. Lots of good memories. Solid boat. For some reason this boat had lee helm on starboard tack and weather helm on port tack. I checked everything, and never found the cause of it. Strange. I once got caught on the lake during a freak wind storm that recorded winds over 40 mph at night after having no wind all day. My friend had never been on a sailboat before that day, and by then we had both had way too much to drink. I managed to get the main and genoa down and hoist a little jib, and we sailed it across the lake into a sheltered cove and tied up to a big tree. Wild ride, but she stood up to it.
