The boat is similar in dimensions to a C&C 29. At 7500 lbs it is a middleweight 70's IOR design w/ a very comfortable layout on and below deck. The 12hp Yanmar(incl handstarter) is positioned under the V berth, and while unusual it offers far better access than any motors I've struggled w/ under cockpit soles. Repacking the stuffing box(under the main salon floorboards) is a piece of cake. On deck the seahood provides a great surface to attach sail handling hardware w/o touching the cabintop, as well as providing a cover for the lines running from the maststep back to the cockpit. The cockpit seating can be converted to a "T" allowing for a large wheel is desired in a few minutes. A large propane locker in the rear of the cockpit and a large anchor locker forward are very useful and not often found in this type boat of this vintage. The boat has a rather high freeboard and handles large seas very well. The overall product quality is oriented towards the Japanese and Asia markets where ownership of a boat of this size is basicly the province of the very wealthy. Very few were imported to the US and Canada and they aren't fequently found outside of the Pacific Northwest. The manufacturer is Yamaha Motor Corp, same as builds the outboards, PWCs, and Ford SHO engines. Aftermarket hardware is typically English(Lewmar/Whale/Simpson Lawrence). The large long portlights seem to become a problem as the boats age and ought to be replaced w/ shorter separated panes that are less likely to develope stress cracks. The interior headliners tend to become distorted from years of summer heat, but can be easily replaced w/ 1/4" marine plywood.
