Description:
|
I took my Ovni 395 north of the Polar Circle this summer, sailing single-handed. Most Ovnis were destined for balmy tropical beaches, but it proves perfect also for colder climates. Aluminium, centreboard, insulated and as waterproof as a tin can (no bolts through deck), it feels very safe on the high seas. In 2 years I have not seen a single pin, shackle or fitting fail (not even the original knots in halyards etc. tied by the riggers have come undone). Could be a little quicker in light airs, but apart from that sailing it is pure joy. I have built a hard dodger mostly to improve the view forward, this ought to be a factory option.
