THIS REVIEW IS ON OUR BUC 26.5 AS MY WIFE AND I HAVE SAILED HER TO THE BAHAMAS 3 TIMES AND ARE PLANNING OUR 5TH TRIP TO BEGIN IN MAY 03,SOME MAY WELL SAY NOT THE BEST TIME TO GO AND YES WE HAD REAL BAD WEATHER TWO TIMES IN CROSSING THE STREAM. BOTH TIMES ON THE WAY OVER.MY WIFE AND I STAY IN THE BAHAMAS FOR UP TO 6 MONTHS SAILING TO MANY OF THE OUT ISLANDS. I NOW HAVE 2 OF MY FRIENDS THAT BOUGHT BUC 26.5 AND 30FT BUC AND WILL GO OVER THIS YEAR IN GROUP.
I HAVE READ AND HEARD MANY STORYS GOOD AND BAD ON THIS BOAT AND I WILL AND MUST SAY THAT FOR AN ALL AROUND SMALL BOAT ITS THE ONE THAT MY WIFE PICKED OUT TO LIVE ON. WE HAVE SAILED OTHER BOATS BIG AND SMALL AND HAVE ENJOYED THEM BUT THIS BOAT HAS ALL THAT IS NEEDED FOR 2 OLD PEOPLE SO AS ITS NOT TO MUCH FOR ONE PERSON TO HANDLE AND SHE IS ONE TOUGH LADY --THE BOAT THAT IS-- THE ONLY REAL PROBLEM WE HAVE HAD IS THE WINDOWS LEAKING , BUT WE ARE CORRECTING THAT ONE AT THIS TIME (REMOVE AND REPLACE). SHALLOW DRAFT GO TO THE BEACH HAVE FUN BOAT,TOUGH EASY TO HANDLE,PLENTY OF ROOM INSIDE,GREAT FOR TWO PEOPLE,BUT SLEEPS 4 OK. NOT BAD FOR A 26 YR OLD BOAT STILL IN GREAT SHAPE , MOST CAN NOT SAY THAT ABOUT SOME OF THE NEW BOATS AROUND, WELL THATS MY STORY IN PART ANYWAY. SAILING IN A BUC AND LOVING IT. SEA YA ON THE WATER-CALM SEAS AND ALL THAT STUFF. CAPT.LARRY
