Pros:
Cons:

Fractional rig. 4 berths and little else. On a reach or run it was basically a 30 foot rocket ship - and would frequently peg the meter at 17 (+?) knots. Unfortunately, the mast tended to be a bit on the willowy side and being a very light hull, it did not point well into the wind. I believe new sails would have helped (they were 10 years old). Just the same, I owned the boat for 2 years and enjoyed every moment on the water with it. The greater the wind the greater the fun. Best cruise was the last one - in which we sailed from the Thames River on Lake St. Clair to the mouth of the Welland Canal for the next owner. 35 hours and 5 minutes was all she took to sail the westward-southward-eastward journey of 240 n.m.

Pros:
Cons:

Few if any?new design 27' to 33'so called trailer sailor sailboats can ramp lunch,this can with 2'up and 5'down draft. So far ahead of it's time,they were not ready for it,and gave it a bum rap!,Few even now in 2003,can do what this one dose so well! It is fast,lite(4500lb.)sails EZ ,and well bal. I've had over 500'SA up at 10notsW and it's good(155&full main)doing 7nots+!
It dose have 6foot head room,and 4=78in. settes(beds). Yes I'm 6'.
But one of the things I like too,is how well it can be modafied to any inside design you like,if your handy!Most in 1978 did not like the design,but now it looks like many new types!This is a boat that I would buy again!!
It has a web site at yahoo groups called "Mega30sailors"
Have Fun sailing what ever you find and like,fair winds!Dana

Pros:
Cons:

This 30 foot trailer sailor,is a great design for racing and cruising,a lift keel that will sail in a 3'6" cruising or 5'race, plus only has 2' draft up.She's only 4500lb.and 50% of it is the keel.
I have SA of 500'for lite air,
and is EZ handeling and bal.
Fast,will run circles around J 24's,I've done it! Their is a web site for them at yahoo groups ,called mega30sailors;

This is a boat that I would buy again!
