Pros:
Cons:

Sloop rigged, long fin keel, reverse transom. Ours has a tiller, no wheel and we consider that good! Inboard Atomic 4. The boat has a comfy interior and a nice sized cockpit. This design is mainsail driven (long boom, large main). Displacement is 10,900. It's a 'new' boat for us, but appears to be both fast and fun!

Pros:
Cons:

Built by Jensen Marine. Light yellow hull, but this is NOT a lemon. Boat sailed exclusively on Lake Ontario. Extremely good in heavy going as well a winds over 2 knots. Has been raced very successfully prior to my ownership, and is considered a fast boat. Interior somewhat rustic (no liner) but functional layout. Still has Atomic 4, but original 20 gal gas tank needed replacement recently. Keel design enables boat to turn on its own axis. A great sailing boat.

Pros: Strong, stiff boat, very little helm when sails are set up properly. The Boat moves very well in all winds.
Cons: I sail primarily on the Chesapeake Bay. One negative for me is the 5' draft.

I have hull # 109. Me and my partner were "kind of looking" for a boat and heard about this one word of mouth. It had been re-powered with a Yanmar 2GM20F, 18 HP and had the wrong prop, so it sat at the dock for 2 years. I saw it and fell in love with her. I gave her the once-over then and there and struggled to drag out the buying process for a month to get a good price. It was a competitive racer in for the first 20 years then had been moving to the cruising configuration over the last 15 years. It had wheel steering added in 1985, which I prefer. When the wind picks up, I put one reef in the main early to keep the neutral helm. The boat is very responsive and turns on a dime. It also points very well. The boat is solid and I don't worry when the wind and chop comes up on the bay. Last summer I went on a cruise, the winds were supposed to be 8-10 NW, it ended up being 25-30 NE, instead of a nice leisurely broad reach, we ended up beating to windward all day. The boat just worked through the waves and was well mannered. Everyone had a good time, though we all slept well that night at anchor.
