Pros:
Cons:

This is my third sailboat. Well constructed, comfortable at sea as well as in the slip, kindly motion in seaway, exellent storage. I have modified the electrical panel to place it on the aft cabin bulkhead at the nav station and used the outboard forward facing bulkhead to mount instruments. Offshore cruises from Columbia River bar to Alaska have been comfortable with the strong hull and rig. Response from the builers has been excellent. I have every confidence in this vessel and plan long passages aboard.

Pros: Well built and sails great
Cons:

We are the proud new owners of Hull #33 - originally commissioned by a rocket scientist in Punta Gorda, Florida. We are the fourth owners of this boat and we absolutely love her. Fortunately for us, the previous owners all took extremely good care of her and she looks like a new boat. People are floored when we tell them that she is 16 years old. She really has great lines - every time we are on the boat people stop and compliment her. Incidentally, Caliber still makes this boat - now called the LRC 40. With a few minor changes, it is the same boat. She is very well built and also well laid out. We sail with our 10 y/o daughter, and we are very comfortable on this boat with the three of us. Some of my favorite things are: the aluminum toe rail, the SS dorades, plenty of opening hatches and ports. The woodwork below is gorgeous. Best of all, she sails wonderfully. She is heavy for a 40' at 21,5k. Don't let that fool you - she is not slow. She's go about 8k downwind with about 15 knots wind. Even in winds less than 10k she will still go about 5-6 knots. With the modified full keel, she handles reasonably well under power.
