Great little boat. Strengths: Fast in medium air. Without the racing package it is slower on a starboard tack. Winged shoal keel drafts under two feet. Very happy with this boat. Would recommend.

Pros:
Cons:

I bought my 1991 Capri 22 tall rig two years ago because she was in excellent condition, loaded with options, had a complete inventory of sails and above all, was beautiful. I had never sailed a day in my life. Other than a trial run with the seller, I have had no lessons. I read and reread "Sailing Fundamentals" - Gary Jobson (Revised and Updated) and took Winter's Hope out using what I had learned from the book and a healthy portion of common sense. I was immediately IN LOVE! My first year I learned the fundamentals and gained self-confidence. This year I am still learning the fundamentals but managed 4th overall in club racing out of a fleet of 23 in my class. (unfortantely racing season is over here on Flathead Lake here in Montana). PRO: The Capri 22 is an outstanding boat to learn with! Highly responsive, easily handled in both light and moderate winds (up to 20 knots)and very forgiving. I highly recommend the Capri 22 for a anyone wanting a good day sailer. CON: This boat is not definitely not a cruiser.
