Pros:
Cons:

The MKII is the updated hull, deck, and mechanical aspects of the popular C34. The changes are very well thought out and the improved rudder really enhances control under sail. The larger 30 hp diesel with 3 blade prop gives exceptional control in tidal areas and improved speed, with reduced noise. I am very pleased with the boat and have had just minor warranty issues, all handled extremely well by Catalina. We looked at a lot of boats before buying it in December 1997 and have not been disappointed. Great boat.

We have really enjoyed the boat, it handles well, has very good systems, and have received good support from
Catalina. Our boat is a standard rig, wing keel, outfitted for cruising. A/C, GPS Chartplotting, inverter, davits, solar panels, sailing instrument repeater, Autohelm ST4000 autopilot, ST 50 instruments with ST30 Wind Indicator (which we prefer over the ST50).

We have sailed our boat on extended cruises to the Keys (we are based in Central Florida). Spend a number of nights on the hook in the ICW around Melbourne.

Our only regret is not getting a furling main sail system. Oh well, maybe our next boat.

My boat has the std headsail and furling main. She is very quick and maneuvers great in tight spaces. I haven't noted any real decrement in performance (my last boat was a Valiant 42) and she's a blast to sail. Single handing is easy and I heavy winds I find that she sails upwind remarkably well with just the main. I highly recommend getting the optional cockpit table. I find that it doesn't interfere with the way most people use the cockpit while sailing and provides a foot brace when heeled. Looks great too.

Below I wish there were more storage bins but for a 34 footer, it's quite adequate. It forces me not to keep a lot things I rarely use on the boat.

Engine access could be better but its adequate for routine maintainence... as long as you don't use your aft cabin for storage. Checking the fuel filter & prop shaft require moving the matress to look. I'll most likely ad a vacuum gauge in the very near future. This out to be an option.

All in all she's a great boat and fun a lot of fun.
