I have just bought a pristine condition Chysler 30, rigged for racing, from second owner in Norfolk VA. It is a great boat, fast, and almost as roomy as my old 34' O'Day. What sold me on the boat is its ability to point well upwind. The boat is very stable with 10,000 lbs displacement and 4000 ballast. Sail area is better than average, although it has a fractional rig on the bow, and the designer (Herreshoff) obviously knew his business. Negatives would be the small underpowered 11 hp Universal diesel, 5'6" draft, and somewhat overuse of cheap plywood and composite board in the interior. Otherwise it's a fine boat and should give us much joy to sail on the Chesapeake Bay. after 21 years the hull is still perfectly sound, no delamination and the rest of the boat checked out 100% by recent surveyor. I paid a little over NADA best price but think it was worth it given excellent shape it's in, new North full batten main sail, roller furling, and new upholstery. Gotta like it.
