Pros:
Cons:

I'VE OWNED MY 31 FOR TEN YEARS, SAILING HER ON THE CHESAPEAK BAY AND OFF SHORE TO THE BAHAMAS AS WELL AS THE LENGTH OF THE I.C.W. SHE'S A SLOOPE WITH HOOD ROLLER FURLING HEAD SAILS.DRAFT IS 3'3" BOARD UP, 7'FULLY DOWN. FRESH WATER COOLED ATOMIC FOUR ENGINE WITH TWO BLADE 10 X 6 PROP.IN WINDS OVER 15KTS SHE HANDLES BEST WITH THE 110 JIB.WE REPLACED THE FULL BATTENED MAIN WITH ONE WITH NO BATTENS AND LOVE IT. THE ATOMIC FOUR IS SMOOTH, QUIET, AND RELIABLE AND HAS 2500HRS. WE USE A AUTOHELM 1000 BUT WILL SWITCH TO A 2000 OR 4000 ST.WE ADDED NORCOLD REFRIDGERATION WITH EXTRA INSULATION.IT'S GREAT WOULD USE ADLER BARBER COLD MACHINE NEXT TIME.WE TURN IT OFF OFF SHORE. WE CARRY 40 GAL WATER, 27 GAL. FUEL, AND HAVE SALT WATER TAP AT SINK. THIS ALL WORKS FINE. WE ALSO CATCH RAIN WATER IN THE BAHAMAS.STORAGE IS GOOD BUT WATCH THE WEIGHT, ESPECIALLY IN THE ENDS. WE CARRY A 33 LB BRUCE ON THE ROLLER WITH 100' CHAIN. THE 25LB CQR AND 20LB DANFORTH ALONG WITH 30' CHAIN AND 400' ROPE STAY IN A LOCKER. WE'VE HAD NO BLISTERS OR OTHER PROBLEMS WITH THE HULL. WE'VE REPLACED ALL THE RIGGING. WE WILL REPLACE IT AGAIN ALONG WITH THE CHAIN PLATES IN THE NEXT COUPLE OF YEARS. WE LOVE THE BOAT, THE SHALLOW DRAFT AND THE WAY SHE SAILS. SHE'S GOOD OFF SHORE BUT WE'VE NEVER HAD MORE THAN 35KTS STEADY THOUGH WE'VE RIDDEN OUT 65+ FOR SHORT PERIODS. WE USUALLY ONLY DROP THE BOARD A FOOT DOWN. SHE SAILS FINE WITH THE BOARD UP.OVER ALL SHE IS A GOOD BOAT.ALTHOUGH WE DON'T PLAN TO CHANGE MY NEXT BOAT WOULD BE A 28-34 120000LB(+ -) FULL KEEL 4-4.5 DRAFT SLOOP-CUTTER. OR A ................?????????????????
