Very easy to sail and handle, and roomy for the size.
The construction is medium light, but strong and stiff due to the innersections in fibreglass. The boat is easy at the helm and keeps a good speed even in light wind.I have lived abord it for six years in Denmark.
Dimensions: LOA 8,43 m. beam 2,88 m. draft 1.49 m. Disp. 3160 kg. leadballast 1270 kg. Designed by Doug Peterson.
Weaknesses: a little too lively for real long distance sailing, windows are leaking a little, after 20 years, else really none.
The Contessa is a well balanced construction very easy in harbour and good for easy and fast familysailing.
