Pros:
Cons:

I just picked this boat up last weekend (6/8/20032) and sailed it from Bayshore, NY to Highlands, NJ.
The boat handled beatifully under power with the Volvo Saildrive.
Under sail she was responsive.
The interior is very well thought out with the most beatifull mahogony joinery work. Two cabin one head model is excellend for weekend guests.
Update 5/20/04.
After a season I can make more informed comments. First of all, the dealer has been very unresponsive. The sails came in miserable shape and numerous problems have surfaced. For example, the dealer's workers painted over the sacrificial zinc, causing some corrosion on the hub of the saildrive. The rig was not tuned correctly, the engine oil was still original (yes, after 90 hours the original filter was still in place). The LPG system has a leak somewhere and the hot water tank will not heat via shore power.
The sails were stained with rust and had mold and holes in them. The bottom was painted but no preparation was done. A lot of the paint was flaking off. The bottom of the bulb looked like it was NEVER painted. It was pure rust.
Furthermore, they were supposed to refinish the exterior brightwork but never did it. The port salon portlight had a leak in it.

All in all the boat is fine and Dufour had been excellent in responding to my concerns. The main concern was performance. I have addressed some of this by getting the sails refurbished, the rig tuned and a folding prop.
However, due to the above problems I cannot recommend the dealer.

Update 2/2006

I've now had the boat for three full seasons going into my fourth. Overall the Dufour is a great boat and I'm very happy with her. All problems have been resolved. The boat now performs as she should which is to say great.
