We bought this boat in Oct 2004. Previous owner had neglected maintenance so some catching up was necessary. The interior design is very attractive and functional. The Volvo MD2030 engine with sail drive is very nice and quiet. We put 3 blade feathering Kiwiprop to replace the two blade volvo prop and it has eliminated vibration through the rudder and a tendency to push the boat off course under power. Sailing gained about 1 knot at 6 knots speed.
This model has one aft cabin which allows a deep lazarette on the port side. Teak in the cockpit is a nice touch.
The sails are the orginal Elvstroms which are not the greatest, but the boat moves very well in light airs and stiffens up nicely in a breeze. The boat seems to handle waves and wash better than many others. This is the shoal draft version at 4'4" with a bulb and it works well for the Chesapeake.
Although the boat is well designed and built, quality of some non essential fittings, such as light switch covers, Port light trims etc is poor. The electrical panel arrangement could be better.
It took some detective work to locate sources of spares but most are available in the US or through the Internet. Metric bolts take some finding. We converted ice box drain to hook into the footpump, which avoids draining into the bilge.
All seals were replaced on main cabin lights and vents in hatches and we now have a dry boat.
We added an asymmetrical spinnaker this year and that has improved downwind performance very nicely. A solid boom vang makes the mainsail handling better.

All in all we are very happy with the boat and it gets admiring glances and requests to take a look on a regular basis.
