Pros: Stable, forgiving vessel, trailerable
Cons: no head, very little storage for life safety equip

As a child, I learned to sail on the Edel 540. It is the first sail boat my father bought and it is still in good shape. We have pulled this boat from the St Lawrence in Montreal when the tall ships were in port ('84) to Kingston Lake Ontario to Lake of the Woods in Kenora. Overnighting is okay with 2 adults and cramped with 3-4. The shallow draft of the fixed keel allows easy access to shallow bays for cover. The boat handles very well in heavy winds and swells. I look forward to teaching my young kids how to sail using this nice little treasure.

Cons:

Do you think 5200$ for a 1988 with a trailer and a 5 hp outboard is a good deal. I need a boat by next summer and I found one at that price. Could you help me.
