36'full-keeled, medium/heavy cruiser, masthead sloop. Knud H Reimers (danish/swedish) design from 1964/65, newest Ive seen built 1986, majority however 1967-1973. Most can be found in Sweden, Denmark and the UK. Approx 100 built
LOA 35'10, beam 9'0, draught 5'8 displ 14000 lbs SA 550 sqf
Strengths: good windward performance, easy to handle even when overpowered, the cockpit is practical for shorthanded sailing and very functional at sea. Good cabin height in the galley, navigation area (about 6'4). Traditional beautiful lines.
Weaknesses: Low bouyancy in the stern, a little difficult to steer when reaching in high seas. Heavy on the helm due to a unbalanced rudder. The prop is placed above the rudder which can make it difficult to manouver in ports.
A true seagoing very functional yacht for the pragmatic traditionalist. Im very happy with mine...
