The Granada 31' is the cruising version of a 1/2 tonner designed by Elvstroem & Kjaerulff. It was built by Gesten Glassfibere in Denmark.
It is a relatively beamy boat with standing headroom (for people 1.84 m - 6 ft. or lower), and at the same time maintaining sleek looks.
I find it a good sea-boat, taking it's racing pedigree into consideration. My boat has done a couple of transatlantic races - one OSTAR and one ARC - before I became the owner.
I have the iron keel version - there also exists a lead keel version. The iron keel version heels pretty easily. I try to keep it at less than 30 deg. heel, but this requires prompt and early reefing. I live in a windy area - west cost of Norway - so I mostly sail in force 5 - 6 and above.
I'm very satisfied with the boat. Pricewise it compares favorably to most alternatives in the same size, while being solidly built with lots of teak and woodwork inside.
