Pros:
Cons:

The '38 was the first Hinckley built with a trim tab on the keel. The engine sits below the floor and waterline to lower the cg. With new designed North Sails she points well and can put a good turn of speed for a hull that is narrow and deep 6'0.
I've installed the NEXUS instruments and have found them quite good especially with the available remote.
The boat has handled 55knt winds and 35' seas off Cape Ann in a Nor'Easter without a problem.
The white hull (never painted) still take a shine after 27 years, a testament to Hinckley's gelcoat.

Pros:
Cons:

my 38 went to college this year, I asked that her new owner call me when he is of a mind to sell. "Denial" ex "Dawnpiper") has a history of owners repurchasing her. this boat was designed by s+s about the time "Intrepid" was drawn by the famous Olin, and she has many traits in common with the famous twelve below the waterline. The 38 is faster in all points of sail than the better known B-40 of the Hinckley yard> It was a treat to meet one of those "classics" out there! If anyone has any questions about this great but short run of boats from Hinckley or if you are lucky enough to have one but need a friend to talk to please contact me ovlovbaas@aol.com
