Pros: Clasic lines. Lots of interior room. Easy rig to handle. Stiff and solid. Good sail plan
Cons: Needs a bit of air to get moving. Rear engine access is tight

We have owned and enjoyed our 1987 Bayfield 36 for 3 years. She is built to handle all that the seas and weather dish out. She sails efficiently and tracks strait, thanks to her full keel. She is solidly built with a keel stepped mast. Deep bilge with tankage in the bilge. This can be a problem as tanks age. She catches everyone's eye!

Pros: Solid boat. Dual mainsheet rig (one tackle serving as preventer). Top quality fittings and workmanship. Roomy head/shower. .
Cons: Difficult engine, stuffing box, fuel filter, cockpit scupper seacocks access. Lots of topside brightwork.

We bought the boat because we liked her looks and reputation and she surveyed well. We had previously owned a Bayfield 25.
