Purchased in july 97 has solid features: Tiller steering, centerboard, sleeps four comfortably, enclosed head, small galley, ice box, v berth with three side bunks, volvo penta 2 cylinder engine, mainsheet traveler.
Had initial problems with the centerboard due to lack of maintanence. Some water leaks where hull meets deck.

Sloop with 3/16 rigging. I'm happy to have the boat in spite of: Rust in bilge from steel piece taking thrust of mast support. The rust has raised the cabin floor about 3/4" and caused it to crack. Little access to interior hull surfaces due to interior accommodation molding (how do you plug a hull hole that you can't get at?). Stemhead fitting useless for anchor work.

We just bought our boat a few weeks ago, and we are love with her already. We bought her in St. Petersburg, and motor-sailed her home to Cape Canaveral, Fl. We took almost two weeks to do so, but we took our time and enjoyed it. We need information on the Irwin 28 or 30. We are not certain which one she is, and the former owner was unsure also. If anyone has any Irwin brochures or information, we sure could use it. Thanks

I just bought this, my first boat. There is a liitle leakage around the hull / top joint and a couple times the centerboard hasn't retracted as it should. I've got a shoal keel. The boat says Ishtar in the head, but I don't know if that's the model.
