Roller Furling Jib, in general good saling boat with good acomadation for 4. 6 have been in cockpit with out problem, receintly replaced rudder due to electralices at rudder post entry into rudder itself. Thought it would have lasted longer then 28 years.

Great close-hauled with the centerboard down. Great in shallow water with it up. There is about 2,200 of lead which makes it very stable too. Well laid out. Easy to work on. I have a tall rig and it sails fast for its age. As with all older boats it is a little small on the inside and as with boats of its length the headroom could be greater. For 30 years of age it has held up very well.

I bought my Irwin 25 in Nov. of 2000 as an abandoned vessel and have spent the last two and a half years completely refurbishing the boat. The nice thing about the '71 model is that the old wooden interior can be completely removed down to the bulkheads and rebuild/redesigned. The boat is pre-cored hull design and has an abundance of fiberglas in the hull! For a 25' boat, it has great room and good stowage space, partly due to the fact that it also has an outboard that takes up no interior space! A great boat to singlehand, especially for us older sailors! I should get many years of use and fun out of this great little cruiser! If you find one, don't pass it by!!!!
