My Island Trader was imported by Marine Trader International in NJ. She is a very handsome boat with lots of teak inside and out. I cannot comment on the sailing characteristics yet since I am still in the process of refitting her. Many seem to suffer from extensive cosmetic damage due to some poor construction or neglect, but the important components seem to be well built with good materials.
I have a web site with pictures, specs and other owner links at .

My Island Trader was imported by Marine Trader International in NJ. She is a very handsome boat with lots of teak inside and out.I have owned one since 1995 and have been sailing her on Puget Sound since the Spring of 1999. She will balance perfectly from close hauled to a close reach, but needs at least 10kn of wind to get moving. I have not had much experience in strong winds yet.

Pros:
Built like a brick S-H
Cons:
Heavy and if you don't like wood this is not for you

We went to see a 36 footer, it was beautiful inside, needed work on the exterior joinery and the keel and rudder were strongly built.
Are they as slow as other reviews have indicated?
