Pros:
Cons:

Production boat that has required a few significant upgrades/replacments/modifications to assure a safe and comfortable cruising sailboat. Interior layout lends itself very well to livingaboard. Although not a fast sailor, she is very "sea kindly". Know of no other equivilant vessel on the market under $250,000. Current selling prices appear to be about $100,000.

Pros:
Cons:

Robert Perry Designed full keel cruiser with raised salon. The Islander 41 is built like a tank, but still sails well, especially in heavier air. We lived aboard for a year with our two young children and found the accomodations to be excellent.

Can carry a big dinghy on davits.
Excellent tankage
Excellent motor
Excellent rig
Great companionway for children and adults
Excellent salon with great view
Excellent anchoring system for dual anchors
Good holding plate refigerator/freezer (Not all models have this one. Most have apt style fridge)

Weak on cockpit space
Onan generator runs fine but is very noisy
Some models have dark tan headliner and yellow formica. (Ugly)

(Destiny has replaced this with white.)

I just bought her and am very happy with "Fortuitous".
She is hull number 144, and has a Chrysler Nissan 100hp engine. She is in immaculate shape and one day my wife and I plan to take her offshore. Until then we will cruise the Pacific Northwest from our home in Vancouver Canada .I am trying to get as much info as I can about the boat so any info would be great.

We are the proud owners of Fortuitous and plan one day to sail her offshore.
We would like to share information with anyone about the Freeport 41 -especially regarding offshore cruising with the IF41.
