Daysailer originally with fixed wooden rudder, pivoted metal centerboard (pivot now leaks a little),insert through top of boat style aluminum mast(one strong person can do this). I modified the rudder(made kickup)and mast(installed hinge)Well built boat.Hard access to bow storage area.Great for daysailing with modifications that I made.
Deck in storage area delaminated from water.Hard to repair. Also heard of a Javelin with a rotted transom.Look for these things when buying one.

Just purchased this boat in July 1999. Have had it out a few times and really enjoy the boat. It seems very stable for a 14 footer, especially one built in 1962. I would like to hear from other Javelin owners, especially those with a similar vintage as mine. Please email me at mindsailor@hotmail.com.

This is a wonderful small daysailer with lots of cockpit room for such a small boat. Easy to rig, sail and trailer; I recommend it highly.

Just bought Javelin and realy like boat. Good starter boat. It's a lot easyer to sail than I thought it would be. Is there a club for Javelin boat owners in the US. I also have some need with a little hull repair. If you have some suggestions please e-mail me. Thanks.

I have also just bought a 1975 javelin. everything on my boat is in great shape. This is my first boat so i do not have much to go off, but it is pretty slow. I was wondering what some of the upgrades that were that other owners have done in the past. I am in fort lauderdale FL if there are other javelins here that want a race.
