Raritan toilet expertise sought.

I have a boat built in 1978 with two Raritan heads. It came to me a few years ago with many spares including rebuild kits which are marked aft head and FWD head. The kits are both marked PHII PHEII but the FWD head ones are marked 1200C which I gather is the pump body.

I only use one head. The other is not connected. [ Don't ask ]

My question is are the complete pump units interchangeable. I would like to have a pump unit that is ready to go in case of a failure. It looks like they should be as the flap valve that fits under the pump unit is the same for both.

However I would not like to find out the hard way that they are not interchangeable.

A second question is that both pump bodies have some external cracking but the cracks do not seem to extend through the housing. Are the bodies known to fail. I am sensitive to the possibility of failure of older plastics as my beloved Salomon SX 91 Equipe Ski boots had to be retired when one broke in half.
