Seems like what would make sense would be a nice long day's motor and then sail to Marina del Rey (LA harbor or King Harbor if you run out of daylight), then a very early morning motoring start westward from MDR in calm conditions... likely carrying extra fuel. This is a heavy traffic part of the world, so you most likely don't want to overdo it and beat yourself up.
