I guess you mean modifying from a swing keel to a dagger board? Other than the work involved, (major) why would you want to install a dagger board so it takes up valuable cabin space? The slot would have to extend beyond the water line. If you hit something with it, well there it goes...
hope you would have reinforced the hull cause that may rip up too

I guess you could say I'm not too fond of the idea. But I'm a little confused here, if you had the swing keel out last summer, why would the keel be stuck now?
