Otter, be careful about "toothpaste".
The traditional old Crest is mainly diatomaceous earth, aka fuller's earth, aka a fine abrasive polish, which is why it used to be sold as "tooth polish".
The new toothpastes are often gel, which won't do squat. Or worse, gel with funny bits in it, which will scratch the heck out of plastics. Old fashioned plain white toothpaste, still a great way to go. Not just for lexan but almost any plastic, even CDs and watch crystals.
Although I do get a brighter shine with 3M's Finesse.
